Terms and Conditions

Thames Appliance Repair · Last updated: July 2026

These terms cover the appliance repair services provided by Thames Appliance Repair in London, Ontario, and your use of this website. By booking a repair or using this site, you agree to what follows. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

1. Our service

We diagnose and repair household appliances on site, including fridges, freezers, washers, dryers, dishwashers, stoves, cooktops and ovens. We work across London and the surrounding area, seven days a week. A specific time slot depends on demand and technician availability, so it is offered rather than guaranteed.

2. Booking and access

When you book, you agree to give accurate contact and appliance details and to make the appliance safely reachable for our technician. Someone aged 18 or older needs to be at the property during the visit. The appliance should sit within your home and be in a safe, sanitary space to work in. If our technician cannot reach it, or the setting is unsafe, we may not be able to carry out the repair.

3. Diagnosis and pricing

We aim to diagnose and fix the problem on the first visit, though that is not always possible. All prices are in Canadian dollars and applicable taxes are added, and payment is due once the repair is complete, unless we agree otherwise.

You always see a price before any repair work begins, and nothing goes ahead until you approve it. No surprise charges once the job is done.

4. Parts

We try to source the right replacement part or a suitable substitute as quickly as we can, but availability varies and can cause a delay. If a part is no longer made or cannot be obtained at a reasonable cost, we may be unable to complete the repair, and we will explain your options.

5. Warranty

Completed repairs are backed by our 90-day warranty on parts and labour. If a part we installed fails within that time, our responsibility is to correct the problem and, where needed, fit another replacement part. Full details are on our Warranty page.

6. Liability

Our work is limited to the repair you approve. We are not liable for a misdiagnosis or for delays in finishing a repair, and to the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect, incidental or economic losses, or for loss of food or other contents. We also do not cover defects that fall under a manufacturer recall or an existing manufacturer or builder warranty.

7. What is not covered

Our service is for residential appliances, not equipment used commercially. We also cannot cover problems caused by earlier faults, misuse, tampering, or repairs made by anyone other than us, along with accidental damage, freezing, fire, flood, power surges, a tripped breaker, poor installation, or a lack of basic maintenance.

8. Technician safety

We will not carry out a repair where the technician is put at risk, for example by unsafe or unsanitary conditions, or by animals or pests that make the work unsafe. In those cases the visit may end without a repair.

9. Your privacy

We collect personal information only to schedule and provide your service, process payment and manage your account. We do not sell it, and we share it only with our technicians and providers who help us deliver the work, or where the law requires it. You can ask to see, correct or remove your information. More detail is in our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted here, with the date shown above, is the current one, and continuing to use our services after a change means you accept the update.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. They make up the full agreement between you and Thames Appliance Repair for the service provided.
